Message from the Chairperson

I have been appointed as the President of the Japanese Society of Child Neurology.
I wish to express my profound respect for the dedicated efforts of those who have contributed to the Society’s growth thus far, and to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our members for their warm support.
The field of child neurology is witnessing remarkable scientific progress, driven by developments and applications in areas such as genetic testing technologies and gene therapy.
At the same time, child neurology as a medical discipline is required to adapt to societal changes, including the declining birthrate and growing public interest in neurodevelopmental disorders.
We bear a responsibility to devote our full efforts to research and the advancement of medical care for the sake of all children with neurological disorders and their families.
To this end, we will foster research through the exchange of information among researchers and the principles of healthy competition; simultaneously, we will collaborate to establish clinical practice guidelines and build a framework for delivering high-quality medical care.
Furthermore, by improving training environments and enhancing educational programs, we will cultivate the next generation of child neurology specialists. We aim to ensure an equitable distribution of highly skilled specialists across the country, ultimately striving to achieve satisfaction for patients and their families.
I am fully committed to working for the future of these children, and I ask for your continued guidance and support.
June 2026
